Designing an Engaging Guest Experience Through Playful Menus

Eetcafé ’t Ken-Net, affectionately known as “the living room of Venhuizen,” focuses on creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for its guests. To capture this homely charm, I designed their new menu in a newspaper style—a concept that evokes the coziness of gathering around a table and sharing stories.

My Role

My role in this project was to create a visual identity reflecting the café’s role as a “living room” for the community. I designed a newspaper-style menu that combines storytelling and fun, featuring heartfelt stories, word puzzles, local ads, and a children’s board game. A matching wine menu and gift vouchers add a touch of elegance while maintaining the café’s warm and inviting atmosphere.
